Privacy Policy in this Meta-database

   Upon receiving information from metadata providers, the Radiation Metadata Archive Group of the Institute for Space and Earth Environment, Nagoya University (hereinafter referred to as "the Group") has established the following terms and conditions for the management and operation of “Meta-database for Radiation and Radioactivity Measurements Related to the Accident at TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station”(hereinafter referred to as "Meta-database"), the Group has established the Terms of Registration and Use of Meta-database. In accordance with this policy, we have established the following personal information protection policy, established a system for protecting personal information, and will promote the protection of personal information by ensuring that all related parties are aware of the importance of protecting personal information and their efforts.

1.Management of Personal Information

   In order to keep the personal information of metadata providers accurate and up-to-date, and to prevent unauthorized access to, loss, damage, falsification, or leakage of personal information, the Group will take the necessary measures, such as maintaining a security system, developing a management system, and thoroughly educating staff, and will implement safety measures to strictly manage personal information.

2.Purpose of Use of Personal Information

   Personal information received from metadata providers will be used to contact the Group, and will also be registered as part of the metadata information in this Meta-database.

3.Disclosure and Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

   JBIC shall appropriately manage personal information received from metadata providers and shall not disclose personal information or personally identifiable information to any third party, except in the following cases.

  1. When there is consent from the data provider.
  2. When disclosure is required by law.
  3. When the handling of personal information is entrusted to a third party. In this case, we will evaluate the management capabilities of the third party and supervise them appropriately.

4.Security Measures for Personal Information

   In order to ensure the accuracy and security of personal information, the Group will take the necessary measures to prevent loss, destruction, falsification, or leakage. In addition, we will take appropriate information security measures against unauthorized access and computer viruses.

5.Correction and Deletion of Personal Information

   If a metadata provider wishes to inquire about, correct, or delete his or her own personal information, we will respond to the request after confirming the identity of the person making the request.

6.Compliance with and Review of Laws and Regulations

   In addition to complying with Japanese laws and regulations and other standards applicable to personal information held by the Group, the Group will review and improve the content of this policy as appropriate.
